How We Pick the Best Tools
The word "best" gets thrown around a lot in AI tool lists. We try to be specific about what it means here. These are not sponsored lists or affiliate-driven rankings - they are curated selections based on a combination of real user ratings, engagement data from our directory, and editorial judgement.
When we put together a best-of list for a category, we start by looking at all the tools in that category in our directory. We then filter by approval status, average rating, and the number of users who have engaged with each listing. Our editors review the shortlist and make final calls based on factors like quality of documentation, pricing transparency, and genuine usefulness for the stated use case.
Sponsored tools may appear at the top of some lists and are clearly labelled. Sponsorship does not affect which tools appear in the organic rankings below the sponsored slots.
Ranked by verified user ratings from our directory.
All tools reviewed by a human editor before listing.
Lists refreshed as new tools gain traction.
Free and paid tools included in every category.
